Kenny Anderson

Executive Director

Kenneth Anderson is a nationally certified counselor with over thirty years of experience in the mental health profession. He is a graduate of Oakwood University (B.A., Psychology, and Alabama A&M University (M.S., Clinical Psychology, 1990). On January 25, 2013, he was appointed Multicultural Affairs Officer for the City of Huntsville by Mayor Battle after spending 16 years at Calhoun Community College, most recently as Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences. In this position, Mr. Anderson acts as a liaison between the city and the community on multicultural issues, encouraging understanding and promoting social justice among diverse groups.

Since 1990, Kenneth has been the host/producer of a live, weekly radio talk show called “2nd Chance” broadcast every Sunday on WJOU Praise 90.1 FM, Oakwood University’s radio station, at 2pm CST. The show can be heard every Sunday at 2 pm CST at www.wjou.org or 90.1 FM (locally). Kenneth established the Jack & Annie Anderson 2nd Chance Endowed Scholarship (2013) at Calhoun Community College for students who have overcome adversity in their life and desire a second chance to earn a degree or certificate. The scholarship is named in memory of his parents in honor of their lifelong commitment to education and is held by the Calhoun Foundation. Kenneth launched the “25” Scholarship (2013) and the “212 Community Service Scholarship (2015) at Oakwood University in the support of students who want to achieve their educational dreams. In 2018, Kenneth launched Leadership Empowerment Enterprise, a 501©(3). As Executive Director, he provides strategic initiatives to ensure that effective legacies are established for future generations through personal development seminars, mentor training and philanthropy.

Kenneth is a past Chairman of the United Way of Madison County, Interfaith Mission Service’s Racial Harmony Coalition and is a former member of the City of Huntsville’s Human Relations Commission. He is a community bridge builder and is committed to the work of creating alliances across multiple dimensions. Kenneth has written as a Community Columnist for the Huntsville Times and received numerous awards and recognitions for almost three decades of community service. He has professional affiliations with the Huntsville Rotary Club, National Board of Certified Counselors, 100 Black Men of America- Greater Huntsville Chapter, Blacks in Government, American Psychological Association and Association of Black Psychologists. He currently serves on the boards of Partnership for a Drug Free Community, First Stop, Inc., the Community Free Dental Clinic, Better Business Bureau of North Alabama, The Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship and Phoenix.

Kenneth is an ordained elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is married to Sonya (Tibbs) Anderson, Branch Chief, Enterprise Service Solutions, a Divsion of the U.S. Army Contracting Command. 

S.Nieci Gayden

Administrative Assistant

S. Niecei Gayden serves as Administrative Assistant to Mr. Anderson. Ms. Gayden is a  Human Resources professional with demonstrated strengths that include planning, scheduling, training development, and employee relations. She has 20 years of extensive experience within the call center including operations and human resources management, organization behavior, labor relations, employee development and compensation, recruitment and training, safety, regulatory compliance, and worker compensation. Niecei is an experienced HR consultant; praised for client management, personnel management; possesses the aptitude to work collaboratively with all shareholders. She has unique communicative, business, and marketing skills to contribute to organization success.
