Dr. Washington Johnson II

Captain Washington Johnson II, native of Birmingham, Alabama was commissioned as a chaplain in the United States Navy Reserve in 1988 and has held multiple assignments for the past 20 years including Navy District Washington (Arlington National Cemetery); Joint-Base Andrews Naval Air Facility Washington, D.C.; Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) Peterson AFB, CO.

Johnson is an ordained Seventh-day Adventist Minister and former Editor-in-Chief of Message Magazine, one of the domination’s oldest religious journals. His pastoral ministry has spanned throughout the South Central and Northern California Conferences of Seventh-day Adventists. As a civilian, serves as Assistant Director of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) at the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists Headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. ACM is the ecclesiastical endorsing agency for the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He also serves as a guest lecturer at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs,
